How it works

How I preserve your family legacy in the making

A smiling woman with shoulder-length brown hair sitting at a table, engaged in a conversation with an older person. The setting is a cozy living room with a fireplace, a television, and windows with blinds. There is a coffee mug, a laptop, and some papers on the table.

Meet & Greet

We’ll meet for an introductory meeting where I’ll ask questions to better understand your goals and share samples of my work. I’ll follow up with a rate sheet and proposal before we move forward with the creative process.

Interview & Listen

Most of my projects launch with an elder interview, which will feel like an easy conversation between friends. This allows Mom and Dad to talk and reminisce as much as they’d like while I engage and listen. These interviews typically take place over an average of four sessions totaling nine recorded hours, during which I love to ask follow-up questions that intersperse historical events throughout their own personal history.

Transcribe & Refine

After the interviews, I’ll transcribe and organize their memories, adding research findings and photos to turn Mom or Dad’s everyday life into interesting stories. The outcome is a polished, easy-to-read manuscript for the entire family to enjoy.

Present & Enjoy

Whether the final story becomes a hardcover coffee table book or is presented in a simple manuscript binder and shareable PDF, the stories are an instant hit with kids and grandkids. They’ll open the book, start reading, and find details they can hardly wait to talk more about, helping them uncover insights for years to come.

Get Started
  • “Sharing stories with Tricia was like talking with a good friend.”

She took the time to listen, and she knew how to ask the right questions to really bring my husband and me back to our younger years.

When I read our stories, I could see the time she put into them, and I realized more than ever how interesting our lives have been. I’m so happy that our daughter and grandkids will always have these stories.
